March 1, 2021 - The Michelson Center for Public Policy joins nearly 400 organizations and institutions across the NIH stakeholder community to recommend an appropriation of $46.1 billion for the NIH in FY 2022, a $3.2 billion increase over the NIH’s program level funding in FY 2021. This funding level will allow meaningful growth of 5% in the NIH’s base budget to keep pace with the biomedical research and development price index (BRDPI). It also will support career trajectories of students and early-career investigators, provide hope for patients and their families, and fully harness novel research tools and partnerships against existing and future health threats.
